Article V, Section 25 of the Texas Constitution

The former section, adopted in 1876 and amended one time in 1891, granted the Supreme Court limited rulemaking authority.
As amended in 1891, the section read: "The Supreme Court shall have power to make and establish rules of procedure, not inconsistent with the laws of the State, for the government of said court and the other courts of this State, to expedite the dispatch of business therein."
Article V, Section 31, added by the same ballot proposition that repealed this section, provides additional rulemaking authority.
