Article XVI, Section 64 of the Texas Constitution

As amended November 6, 2007:

The elective district, county, and precinct offices which have heretofore had terms of two years, shall hereafter have terms of four years; and the holders of such offices shall serve until their successors are qualified.

Editor Comments

This section, added in 1954 and amended once, provides an exception to Article XVI, Section 30(a) for the designated officers.

The 2007 amendment to this section eliminated an obsolete reference to the statutory office of Inspector of Hides and Animals.
